What is a high-frequency SMPS?

A high-frequency SMPS (Switched Mode Power Supply) takes standard AC power and converts it into a low-ripple, high-voltage DC output at switching frequencies of tens of kilohertz. Compared to traditional transformer–rectifier (T/R) sets, these modern SMPS solutions:

    • Provide higher average voltages to end devices.
    • Offer more compact, lighter designs, reducing installation costs.
    • Improve power factor and reduce energy losses.

NovaKraft™ further refines these advantages by using silicon carbide transistors for enhanced thermal performance, higher switching speeds, and better reliability than typical IGBT-based solutions.

Why choose NovaKraft™?

  1. Optimized for electrostatic precipitators
    • Designed to help operators meet stricter emission regulations in power, marine, cement, pulp & paper, metals, and more.
    • Smooth high-voltage output for better dust-collection efficiency.
  2. Superior SiC performance
    • Built around silicon carbide from the ground up, achieving better efficiency and less heat generation than conventional IGBT TR units.
  3. Compact & universal design
    • Horizontal or vertical mounting for easy fit in tight spaces.
    • Modular enclosure for quick maintenance and minimal downtime.
  4. Advanced digital controls
    • Real-time data monitoring, 7″ touchscreen interface, remote diagnostics, and support for major industrial protocols (Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP, Profibus, etc.).
  5. Energy savings & reduced OPEX
    • High power factor near unity and lower ripple voltage cut wasted energy, thus reducing operational expenses.

Applications and industries

  • Power generation (up to ~50MW): Upgrade existing ESPs without needing large-scale mechanical modifications.
  • Marine exhaust gas cleaning: Compact form factor and robust design make it an excellent fit for shipboard exhaust gas handling systems.
  • Industrial processes: Cement, pulp & paper, metals, and more—anywhere a high-performance ESP solution is required.
