We extract biomass fuels from many plants leading to very different characteristics—and varying challenges. For instance, bagasse-fired boiler ESPs carry a risk of fire and explosion. Others, especially some oilseed-based agricultural waste, have very high adhesive properties with steel and are challenging to rap off. In some cases, we see tiny particle sizes. Although rare, back corona does occur, and the collected ash from husk-based applications may have excessive re-entrainment. All this calls for different types of power supplies that are ideal to face and solve these challenges.

Emissions

By upgrading your ESP with our power supplies, you can minimize the emission levels, making it easier to meet more demanding environmental norms.

Economy

Our power supplies reduce energy consumption while increasing your operations' efficiency and output without adding ESP fields. Something that makes them a sound financial investment.

Reliability

By upgrading to our power supplies, you get a highly reliable solution adapted to your unique needs. The result? Better uptime and more predictable and profitable operations.

How our solutions tackle various challenges

Maintenance costs

Quite a few ESP installations are old and use power supplies in need of costly maintenance. Traditionally, you replace the entire installation with a new one, but we offer a quicker, more cost-effective solution where we only upgrade the power supply. You pay less than you would for repairing or rebuilding the ESP – and get a more reliable solution that improves your operations and minimizes your energy consumption.

The life span of RTO Catalysts

When particulate matters and condensable leave the ESP, they clog the incinerator’s packed bed and poison the catalyst. As a consequence, you face a premature and costly catalyst replacement. You avoid this by upgrading to the proper power supply. An extra benefit with that is that you can expect a prolonged life span even when processes change.

Risk of explosion

Bagasse-fired boiler ESPs in the biomass industry carry a heightened risk of explosion. We eliminate that with our automatic grounding switch (AGS), which discharges the ESP in less than one second.

Back corona

Even if rare, there are biomass processes that create back corona. To solve that issue, KraftPowercon offers power supplies with pulse technology combined with profound application knowledge.
